What is RSS?
The technology behind RSS allows you to stay up to date with websites that provide RSS feeds for their content. An RSS reader (aka RSS aggregator) collects all the information from the RSS feeds that you subscribed to, allowing you to browse all of this content without having to visit each website. Where do I get an RSS reader?
There are plenty of feed readers available on the Windows, Mac OS X, Unix, and Linux platforms. Web browsers like Firefox and Safari feature embedded RSS readers. I would recommend the free reader RSSOwl (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and Solaris). Moreover, Mac OS X power users will match better experience with the award-wining NetNewsWire. This page lists up the RSS generated feeds of popular scientific journals. It is designed to help scientists to stay up to date with their favorite journals using the RSS feeds technology.
Disclaimer: I wrote this piece of computer program that automatically generates feeds from Journal's home page when no official feed is available. It actually tries to figure out how abstracts are written in the source code. Therefore I can't guarantee the operation to be successfull, I just hope that helps if it works.
